Reflections on General Conference this year

How I love and look forward to General Conference. I love that we have a living prophet and apostles to guide and lead us in these latter days. This April Conference was inspiring, motivating, assuring, and overall I came away with a great sense of peace, stronger testimony, and the desire to strive and be better.

I love to have questions and then take notes with every speaker. It is amazing and humbling to pray that those questions may be answered in a way I need to understand right now. How loving is our dear Heavenly Father that understands and guides us through the holy ghost to reach such answers. I would be terribly ungrateful if I didn't thank him and write down the highlights of each speaker of confernce. so I remember.

*Sat, Morning Session:
Elder Boyd K. Packer: "Stand in your Place"
-Through the keys of the power of the priesthood, we can receive power from heaven to arm ourselves with richeousness.
Sister Julie B. Beck: "A good women knows"
-Personal Revelation depends on a matter of commitment from each of us.
Keith B. McMullin: "Awake to your sense of your duty"
-The message is that God forgives. Seek and hold out on the condition that we forgive others.
-In the midst of distress, we should pray-it is our duty.
Wilford W. Anderson: "Homeless but not Hopeless"
-Hope depends on Faith, Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, not on circumstances.
-Have hope through the Atonement of Jesus Christ: 1. Turn unto Him 2. Believe 3. Follow
Elder M. Russell Ballard: "Wome in and of the Church"
-Listen to lessons of the past for eternal perspectives
-Live for time and all eternity.
-A women learns to nurture by being nurtured.
-Teach, Nurture, Prepare in the Home right now.
-Find joy in nurturing within the walls of your own home.
President Henry B. Eyring: "Youth of the Church"
-There is spiritual strength with staying on the path of richeousness.
-A strong spiritual foundation can have lifelong and eternal consequences and blessings.
*Sat, Afternoon Session:
Elder L. Tom Perry: "Missionary Work"
-Never be through of learning for the day-constantly exercise the brain.
-No preparation is ever wasted. Be dilligent and thorough in every detail of preparations.
Elder D. Todd Christofferson: "Devotion to the Scriptures"
-The scriptures are a standard for distinguishing truth, divine potential and the voice of reality.
Koichi Aoyagi: "Help and Save Others"
-Our hands can help save others, to come unto Christ.
Bruce A. Carlson: " Ground Effect"
-Strict obedience equals blessings and happiness to the commandments, that will land me safely and not upside down.
Elder David A. Bednar: "Standing Water Ahead"
-Such warnings should lead to vital watching and preserverance

2. Bear testimony Spontaneously
3. Invite to action
-Our job as parents is to help our children fish.
Elder Jeffery R. Holland: " Faithfulness in all things"
-Love should be giddy; not unrealistic.
*Sunday, Morning Session:
President Dieter F. Uchdorff: "Illuminate the Light of Christ"
-Love is the grand motive of the Plan of Salvation, of Happiness.
-As servants of the Lord we are called to support and heal, rather than condemn.
Elder Richard G. Scott: "Live Again with Christ as the center of the home"
-Death is not the end of our existence.
-Easter is the sacred season-to bring peace and joy of our Savior Jesus Christ
Donald L. Hallstrom: "Faith and Devotion to the Lord"
-Be simply devoted members
-My ability to constantly turn to the Lord will determine my confidence in circumstances,
Cheryl C. Lant: "Seek to know who Jesus Christ is"
-Love the Lord-Accept fully the Atonement of the Savior. Nothing is mroe important or worthy.
-Bring children to the saviour-in the process bringing ourselves to him.
Elder Quentin L. Cook: "Easter is of Christ"
-We must revere and remember the Sacrament-such commandments revere our admiration
-Find time to: 1. Slow Down 2. Ponder 3. Pray 4. Obey
*Sunday Afternoon Session:
Elder Russell M. Nelson: "Fond Memories"
-Love unites the family.
-Proclaim, Promot, Protect your family
-Work dilligently in joyful work.
Elder Robert D. Hales: "My duty to God in relationship to the youth"
-The greatest rescue, missionary work, activation, legacy, heritage, history is in the home.
-Live the gospel principles at home with dilligence and determination.
-The saddest word of tongue or pen would be the words, "It might have been."
-Family dinner time-it is not the food but the family interaction that nourishes the soul.
Bradley D. Foster: " No Doubt About It"
-There is no greater good in all the world, than Motherhood.
-A distraction doesn't have to be evil, to be effective.
-Nurturing is part of the spiritual design of women.
-A mother's love is one that typifies the Love of Our Savior Jesus Christ.
James B. Martino: "The desire to be better requires practice"
-Determination grows with the thought of success within view.
-Grow from experiences involving trials.

Gregory A. Schwitzer: "See beyond which is in front of you
-Christ is our Ressurection and Life.
-Good Judgements are needed: 1. Put standards in alignment with the gospel of Jesus Christ, 2. Listen to the messages of the Living Prophets, 3. Cultivate with the spirit a relationship of listening, 4. Keep the commandments.
Francisco D. Vilas: "Replace Fear with Faith"
-Adapt Christ's teachings to every experience you have.
Elder Neil L. Anderson: "Fan the Flame of Spiritual Glow"
-Look to the Lighthouse of the Lord.
-Teach children about Jesus and the gospel
President Thomas S. Monson: "Thank you"
-The two most important words spoken are the word Thank You.
-Death is our universal heritage.
-We must appreciate life to understand the meaning and significance of life.
-We are here because we love the Lord, which is our responsibility.
-Live the principes of the gospel-study, ponder, pray.
-Acknowledge the Lord, and he will direct your path,
